Privacy policy

Last updated 23 October 2026

The short version

There are no accounts, no ads and nothing is sold. We don't ask for your name, email or phone number.

To write recipes, the ingredients you type and the photos you take are sent to an AI service. Photos are processed for that one request and are not stored by us.

Saved recipes and your settings stay on your own phone.

Ingredients and photos

When you ask for recipes, your ingredient list and your time, diet and servings choices are sent to our server and passed to an AI model to write the recipes.

When you use a photo, it is shrunk on your phone first, sent to our server, passed to an AI model to list the ingredients it shows, and then discarded. We never save photos and never write them to our logs.

The AI models are run by outside providers, reached through OpenRouter or Anthropic. Those providers handle the request under their own privacy terms, and some free models may keep requests to improve their services. Please don't photograph or type anything personal.

What stays on your phone

The app stores a random device ID, your settings, your last recipes and any recipes you save in your browser's or app's local storage. This never leaves your phone except as described here.

The device ID is a random code, not linked to your name or phone number. It is sent with requests so we can limit how many recipes one device can ask for each day. If accounts are added later, it lets your saved recipes move into your account.

Clearing your browser data, or uninstalling the app, deletes all of this.

What our server records

For each request we log one line for running and improving the service: a request ID, the device ID, how long it took, how many ingredients or photos there were, which AI model answered, and the size and cost of the request. The ingredient names and photos are not in this log.

To prevent abuse, we count requests per internet address and per device. These counters are kept for up to 24 hours and then expire.

Our hosting provider (Vercel) may keep standard server logs, such as internet addresses, for a limited time.

Reviews and messages

If you rate a recipe or send us a message, we keep what you wrote (stars, comment, the recipe's name, and any name or email you chose to give) together with the device ID, so we can improve the recipes and reply to you. Leave the email out if you don't want a reply.

Children

The service is not aimed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
